D-AL Prick test

Characteristics

Diagnostic allergens for prick tests are prepared from sterile basic extracts of relevant allergens. Concentration or biological activity of active substances is expressed in unit standardised quality units (SQU), protein nitrogen units (PNU) or as a dilution ratio. Biological activity of 1 000 JSK corresponds with the activity of a standardized allergen that in skin prick testing (in a randomly selected group of at least 20 patients with allergy) produces a mean of 5.5 wheal diameter. The product is intended for diagnostic purposes to confirm specific type 1 hypersensitivity of the patient to the specific allergen or to determine the level of hypersensitivity.
